White fungus Growing on plant leaves?

I have several plants growing in the same room that have developed white looks like a fungus that has begun to grow on an ancient jade plant and several of my african violets. it grows on the leaves close to the stem and is quite squishy. . . what is this irritating new growth and how can i get rid of it? i thought it could be cold temps. but the room itself remains a nice warmth except at night.

it really could be one of a million strains, but thats beside the point.
