Would U Worship a Wood Carved Statue if a relative made it or a Chinese Craftsman?
My confusion is with so many religions out there that I’m unable to understand and there are some that just make me think what the heck! I mean like those religions that feel the need to have meditation and do worship in the presence of a statue, symbol and such. Some religions give fruits and food to carved statutes and only to have to watch the dissapointment of all the food rottening because whoever didn’t come and eat it. Even in the christian faith, certain sects and groups faithfully adorn their crosses and michealangelo paintings it’s just puzzling. Since I think to myself, why would I worship anything or hold anything up as higher value than human when it was created by human. I don’t know. What about you? Would u Worship the Pecan pie because it baked in the shape of the Popular Face said to resemble Christ?
Never. Why would I ever want to pray to something like that. It is just stupid and silly that includes the crosses and paintings you mentioned. That is why I only worship the one creator of the universe and nothing in between.

What’s the difference between praying infront of a statue of Jesus on the Cross, and praying to just a cross??

I mean, is it the ceramic nature of a statue which makes praying to it a sin or what?
Why is it OK for non catholics to pray to a cross? It’s basically just two planks of intersecting wood?
And Catholics don’t pray to the statue. That’s retarded, Say if a Catholic is praying infront of a statue of Jesus, they wouldn’t be praying to the statue, they’d be praying to Jesus. The statue a) has an aesthetic appeal, and b) reminds us of who we are praying to. Being human beings, physical manifestations of things make us feel more attached to something. Why else do people take photos, for example?
Praying infront of a statue is no different to going to a holy place to pray. You’re still praying to the same person, the surrounds are just different.
